I can't believe I'm 31 weeks! I find myself saying very frequently, "What is he DOING in there?" It often feels like he is doing jumping jacks or hula hooping. Silly boy.
This IS what he's doing:
"This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy."
Quiz Time!

I'm going to rant a little bit here:
Pregnant woman don't want to be called fat, but I also don't like being called "small". It makes me feel like the person doesn't think I'm doing a very good job. I know I'm not HUGE, but this is big for me. I'm proud of my belly. I love my curves and the things this pregnancy is doing for my butt and front.
I especially love (sarcasm) when people who have NO kids and have NEVER been pregnant say, "Wow, you sure are small for 30 weeks." They don't realize that I'm over 6 feet and my baby has more room to stretch than most. They don't understand that depending on how he is laying, his position can affect my size. You are not my doctor and I didn't ask you to critique my belly size.
Also, when I tell you I'm having a home birth and planning on breastfeeding, I don't need your uneducated opinions on that either. A lady at work told me I was crazy because "now-a-days, you can just get a C-section and tummy tuck all in one shot." Yeah, cause that's important. Some other stranger reminded me that I could die at home having a baby. (I could also die in a crash rushing to the hospital) She said everybody needs to be at a hospital because that's how she did it and both of her kids turned out fine.
Someone told me that breastfeeding was" not natural and that those boobies are for your man, not your baby." Really? Maybe this is all hormones talking and I'm the crazy one, but I just think there has to be a better way to express your opinions.
This post is a day early because the next several days are going to be BUSY BUSY BUSY!
